Endorsed by the International Ski Federation, Sainte Foy’s course is prime for both Slalom and Giant Slalom training and has seen the tracks of some of the sport’s finest. At the starting line atop the course, all that remains is for you to launch forward, tracing the paths of these skiing legends.
Slalom (SL)
In alpine skiing, competition is built around two core types: technical and speed events. Slalom stands out as the most technical. In this event, gates are closely set, demanding abrupt changes in direction and swift turns from the skiers. Slalom courses are shorter than other events, and with all its turns, average speeds are generally lower.
It’s often said that the secret to nailing a slalom run is to think less and let the skis do the job. Well, that’s the theory – putting it into practice is up to you!
Giant Slalom (GS)
Like slalom, the giant slalom is one of the technical events in alpine skiing, and it’s the fastest within this category. With the giant slalom, the course has a winding nature, with gates set closer and in greater numbers, but that doesn’t stop some racers from hitting speeds of up to 90 km/h.
A stronghold of French skiers, the giant slalom is an event where mastering the curves truly shines. According to the champions of the discipline, the trick lies in continuously anticipating the next turns.
